The Democrats are fighting back, but we are putting in the hard work and gaining ground; on March 13th, 2007, there were 21,611 registered Democrats and 21,557 registered Republicans in Wood County, a difference of 54 voters.  This is down from a difference of over 2,500 in 2002, only five short years ago. As of April 9th, 2007, the difference is only 46 voters.  Lets keep up the hard work!!!

(A BIG THANK YOU!! for that progress should be given to the Bush-Cheney '04 Campaign, Rocky Peck, who served as Wood County GOP Chairman from 2002 to 2006, and the rest of his former committee.)

Republicans have never held the majority of voter registration in the history of Wood County.  The Wood County Young Republicans have made it their mission to turn the tide on the Democrats.  We want to make history by establishing Wood County a Republican County for the first time ever.

Teenage Republicans (TARS)
Summer Training Program

2006 - 2007 Wood County Christian School Teenage Republicans
Taken after the 2006 Parkersburg Home Coming Parade.

We plan to setup training for the Teenage Republicans from the difference schools within the county this summer.

The training will provide them with essential skills they will need during the upcoming presidential election cycle; including how to recruit members, establish a strong organization, mobilizing their membership, and how to operate phone banks and door to door activities.

(More details to come - times, dates, locations, ....)
